Schoolboys Cup Information

Eligibility

The competition is open to secondary school boys. Players must be enrolled in a school.

 Year Levels

Students in Years 7 to 12 may be included in the team.

Starting Date

Wednesday, 16 July 2026.

Venues

Games will be played on Wednesday and Friday afternoons from 4:00 to 5:00 pm. (Brisbane North Hockey Centre / State Hockey Centre).

Game Time

Two 25-minute halves with a 3-minute half-time break.

Team Composition

Teams must consist of boys from the same school.

Nomination

Nominations are submitted via the BHA portal. 

Team Fees

Fees will be determined by the number of teams entering. These fees cover the costs of field hire, umpires, first aid officers, and any additional officials required.

Insurance

Each team or school is responsible for obtaining parent consent and conducting a risk assessment to ensure the safety and welfare of all players.

Personnel

A coach and manager must be present on the bench during games.

Composite Teams

Two schools may combine to enter a team if they cannot provide the number of players independently. This combination of teams will be subjected to the committee's discretion. If you wish to form a composite team, please contact the organiser before nomination.

Competition rules

The competition will be played under the FIH Rules of Field/Outdoor Hockey.

Umpires

BHA will organise umpires for every match.
