Hi All!
Welcome to the 2025 BHA Brisbane Schoolboys Cup season! Thank you for your continued support, and a warm welcome to Mt Maria College, who are joining us this season. The draw for the season is now available and is attached to this email. I apologise for the delay, as there was quite a bit of scheduling to work out this year. The draw will be available on the BHA website and I will email the link out early next week.
I want to draw your attention to some changes this year:
- Unfortunately, we can't get BP on Wednesday afternoons this year to play games because BHA has to move training sessions to BP in that timeslot. I will endeavour to negotiate with BHA to book BP on Wednesdays in 2026.
- Games are played at SHC and BP on Fridays. Every team will get a chance to play at SHC to accommodate St Edmund's travel arrangements.
- Umpires will be organised by BHA this year, but if you have an umpire who can travel with your team, it will be greatly appreciated. Please forward their names to me, and I will inform BHA. They will be paid by BHA. This is a great chance for students to earn their umpiring qualifications.
There are some reminders before teams take the field:
- Players must wear shin pads and mouthguards on the field. No hats with hard peaks allowed.
- Players should be respectful towards umpires and technical staff.
- Managers must complete the match sheet before the game. This means you need to write down the names of the players on your team. The sheets can be found in the tech rooms at SHC and BP. Please return the sheet to the tech room after the match.
- Team captains nominate the best and fairest player from the opposing team after each game.
- For managers, please sign the sheet at the end of the game and indicate the best and fairest player of the match on the match sheet.
- Umpires should print and sign their names on the scoresheet at the end of the match.
