Hockey Qld COVID-19
Update #2

To The Hockey Community,

My heart goes out to those in our community (and indeed the world) struggling with the many impacts of COVID-19. From the loss of life, to the displacement and isolation, and of course the economic impact.

Now is the time for every member of our #TeamQLD community to come together and take care of each other. The passion of the Queensland hockey community is legendary and in this challenging time I ask that you channel this into supporting and connecting with your club and association members.
We must all draw on the TeamQLD values of resilience, communication and unity within the team to ensure that we can come out the other side of this united and strong.

I would like to thank our Clubs and Associations in advance for your understanding as we navigate through these uncertain times.
Hockey Queensland have been keeping abreast of Coronavirus (COVID-19) and monitoring information as it comes to hand from the relevant authorities. We are working around the clock with Government, Hockey Australia, Hockey Queensland Board and our stakeholders to adapt to this unprecedented environment.

Our aim is to build a foundation to give hockey the best chance of remaining sustainable across Queensland, and ensuring that when the time comes we can recover quickly.
The HQ team will continue to do everything we can to be ready and to get everyone back on the field when it is safe to do so.

Associations and Clubs will receive continuous support and their input is crucial to the future landscape of hockey. I urge our Associations and Clubs to reach out to Hockey Queensland with questions and for support, so we can work through these hurdles together.

"Alone we can do so little; together we can do so much." – Helen Keller

Adversity can result in success and I am confident hockey will come through this stronger than ever before because of the support we give to each other now in these difficult times.

Stay safe and at a distance.

Refunds

It is important to note that the season has been postponed NOT cancelled.

Given the situation with COVID-19 continues to evolve and change rapidly, a decision on HA and HQ registration fees will be made once a full understanding of the impact of COVID-19 is available. The hockey community is committed to complete the season as best we can and at this point it’s premature to consider any refunds from Associations and Clubs.

However, given the ever-changing position and unknown impact on different families and communities it would be advisable that Associations and Clubs review requests for refunds under special circumstances.

Hockey Drills, Skills, and Activities

Hockey Queensland has started a collection of our favourite skills, drills, fitness, fun activities, funny videos, and more to keep you and your little ones moving and loving hockey. We’ll be adding to this list and will post content on our Facebook page as often as possible.
