First Test, Australia v Great Britain

Brisbane Cricket Ground (The Gabba)
Saturday, 6 August 1966

Graham Ross, a former St Andrews player, has kindly donated his copy of the "souvenir programme" for the First Test of an historic tour by Great Britain in 1966. The program contains some interesting historical details of our game and its origins.

I can remember watching the match myself, sitting with my father Les Rendell and his former School Teacher and Brisbane Schoolboys Hockey organiser, Ralph Wakefield. It was an exciting event for all Hockey enthusiasts in and around Brisbane! Kim

The program has been digitised and can be viewed/downloaded as a PDF - here or by tapping on the thumbnails of the individual pages below.
