TV Broadcasts - BHL1 Matches
Once again this year, BHA, BWHA and 31 Digital (formerly Briz31) have agreed to record selected matches, both men's and women's, throughout the season for broadcast on 31 Digital each week. In general terms, the recording is done fortnightly, with one men's and one women's match recorded back to back on SHC1.
The good news is that 31 went digital during 2010 and is now known as 31 Digital and can be found on Channel 44.
The following details of broadcast days and times were for 2010, and will require confirmation for 2011.
After recording, one of the two recorded matches is then broadcast during 2010 on the following Monday night at 7:00pm, while the other is broadcast Monday fortnight at 7:00pm. Then the whole process is repeated.
- Replays (2010): Each week, the 7:00pm Monday broadcast is replayed at Midnight and again at 6:30am on Tuesday. Replays will also occur each Saturday at Midday.

- Good news! - 31 is now digital on Channel 44.
Forms for TV Matches
Dear Club Secretary, Your assistance is required with the following three items in relation to the recording of your Club's BHL1 match each weekend.
1. Each of you need to complete your BHL1 Player Profiles and submit them to BHA by Thursday night. A template (spreadsheet) has been produced to assist. Please be certain to amend the sample name and date at the top (shown in red) and save the file including your Club's name in the filename after the '_' character if possible. Available in OOo Calc format and MSExcel format.
2. You will also need to provide your final starting team list (name and shirt number) by Friday 12.00noon. This is so that QCTV can get all the information into their format for the on screen team list. Obviously you are not held to the players you list on Friday if for any unforeseen reason you need to make changes prior to Saturday's match. However, in such a case the names on screen may therefore not match.
3. Each of your players and Coach/es are required to sign a Media Consent Form. These forms are to be lodged with the BHA Office or with the Technical Bench prior to the commencement of the match. They will then be held in the BHA Office for the duration of the 2010 Season. This document is available in PDF format (120kB).
OpenOffice.org & LibreOffice
Looking for an industrial strength, fully licensed and cost free 'Office Productivity' suite? Then why not download yourself a copy of OpenOffice.org (OOo), or LibreOffice? You can also find them on PC Magazine discs ready for installation. Versions of OOo and LibreOffice are available for most platforms including MS Windows, Linux and Mac OS X. The native file formats used by these suites were released as an ISO and IEC International Standard under the name ISO/IEC 26300:2006 which was officially published 30 November 2006. (More here)
Generally BHA publishes documents and forms in both OOo/LibreOffice and MSOffice formats for the convenience of its members. The most common OOo/LibreOffice file extensions used are .odt (for text), .ods (for spreadsheets), and .odp (for presentations). OOo/LibreOffice will open and save in their own or the MSOffice formats. OOo/LibreOffice will also export any document directly to PDF. Check 'em out!

Don't have a PDF Reader installed on your PC? Then perhaps one of the best ones to install is Foxit Reader. At around a 5MB download, it opens really fast and is available for most platforms including Linux and Windows desktops and mobile devices. Install the latest version from the Foxit Reader Website. Then check for updates in the Help menu of the newly installed Foxit Reader and if you are using the Firefox Web browser, select the Firefox plugin. Once it is installed you can view PDF files embedded in the BHA Website from within Firefox.
Of course if you must, you can choose to install Adobe Reader, close to a 40MB download. When installed it opens much slower and continually nags you with offers of upgrades and all sorts of other Adobe products.
