Kookaburras aim to win first World Cup in 24 years!
The Kookaburras are right in the middle of their 2010 World Cup campaign in New Delhi, India.
The team arrived over a week ago and settled in well, playing two practice matches against Germany and Canada before their opening game against England on Sunday 28th February.
Despite having 65% of the possession, several more circle penetrations and shots on goal, the Kookaburras walked away from their opening match empty handed, going down to England 3-2.
Despite the result the Kookaburras remained focused, coming out during their next match against host nation India determined to get a win. In what was a unique experience for the team playing in front of over 19,000 passionate Indian fans, the team played extremely well, taking an early lead thanks to Kookaburras co-captain Liam De Young.
The Kookaburras took a 3-1 lead into half time and ended up securing a 5-2 victory.
They continued their good form last night when they set a World Cup record for the biggest winning margin after defeating South Africa 12-0.
Full of confidence, the Kookaburras will next take on Spain on Saturday 6 March. Don't forget, the match will be shown LIVE on Fox Sports from 10.00pm EST!
