Planning for the 2010 hockey season is already under way! Keep an eye out for these projects in the coming 6-12 months.
Development Squads
- Brisbane Players
- Brisbane Coaches
- Queensland Players
- 2 sessions per week for 8 weeks
- Cost of $50 per player
Coach Development
- Coaching development groups (working with development players)
- Attending club training nights to work with coaches
- Creating an e-mail group to distribute relevant information to club coaches
- Identifying coaches for representative teams (Brisbane & Queensland)
- Workshops (QAS trainings, Brisbane trainings, Club training)
- Setting dates for Hockey Ed coach accreditation courses
- Nominations to be called shortly for coaches for all Brisbane teams in 2010
Junior Recruitment
- Active Parks Program with Brisbane City Council
- Holding "Have A Go" Days at various parks, building on the success of the first one that was held at North Lakes in August.
- Running Hookin2Hockey programs, starting with two in the September holidays at Burringbar Park & State Hockey Centre turfs
- Continue to build our schools program
- Involvement in Active After School Communities program
Southside Summer Sixes for Juniors
- Summer Hockey competition for juniors at State Hockey Centre
- 10th October to 5th December 2009
