Hockey Australia – HockeyEd Update
Community & Beginner group face-to-face sessions CDs now available!
CD versions of the Community and Beginner online training programs are now available! A few copies will be sent to each state for your own use. Please send any requests you receive from Clubs or Associations for CD’s through to HA and we will post a CD out. The CD’s make it convenient for those that do not have internet access to conduct the online training programs in a group environment.
We will be sending out an email to clubs shortly on how to conduct a face-to-face session. The resources are available if you wish to promote the group sessions to your clubs at state level. E-flyers on how to conduct a group session and promoting the online training programs are attached. Clubs and associations can also download these resources directly from the HA website click here
New & Updated Assessor/ Facilitator Resources
We have now created an Assessor/ Facilitator Resources page that is available to everyone and linked the secure HA Approved Assessors page to this.
New/ updated resources are as follows:
- Assessment Guides – new, provides indicators of competency to be used as a guide and not as a checklist, to assist with the assessment process by providing the assessor with examples of evidence.
- Development Coach & Umpire Programs – new, Program Resources for Facilitators and Program Coordinators
- Assessor Checklist – updated, provides checklist for the assessment process
- Com & Beg Checklists - updated
- HockeyEd overview Pwpt – updated
- How to conduct a group session - new
HockeyEd Policies Reminder
Renewals: The requirements for renewal have changed somewhat so please make sure you familiarise yourself with the changes which have been posted on the HA website click here. Attached are revised versions of the coaching and umpiring training program structure. See the left side menu for links to copies of these flyers.
RCC: A practical demonstration is now a compulsory requirement of an RCC application to sign-off on the ‘practical based’ competencies. Practical Demonstration competencies can be evaluated and achieved through either having a qualified assessor who sees you coaching on a regular basis assess your competence (i.e act as a referee and sign off on competencies achieved) or by organising a practical assessment to be assessed.
