Redcliffe Leagues v Commercial – fact sheet
* Redcliffe Leagues is playing in their first grand final since 2004, when they lost 2-0 to Commercial. Redcliffe Leagues’ last grand final win was in 2003, beating Easts.
* Commercial is aiming to win their fourth straight Division 1 premiership. In the post-war era only one other team has won four grand finals in a row (Bulimba 1999-2002).
* Redcliffe Leagues' path to the grand final has been: 0-3 loss to Commercial, 3-2 win against Labrador. Commercial’s path to the grand final has been: 5-0 win against Labrador, 3-0 win against Redcliffe Leagues.
* Commercial enter the grand final on a seven game winning streak. Redcliffe Leagues has won five of their past seven games.
* Redcliffe Leagues has not beaten Commercial since 2006. Commercial has won 16 of the past 18 meetings between the sides.
* Redcliffe Leagues has not beaten Commercial in three matches this year. Commercial has won 2-1 (Round 9), 2-1 (Round 18) and 3-0 (semi final).
* Redcliffe Leagues had the best defence and the fourth best attack during the regular season. Commercial was second for both most goals scored and least goals conceded.
* The grand final will feature the two youngest coaches in the Brisbane Hockey League's Division 1 competition – Matthew Marsden (Redcliffe Leagues) and Blair Brown (Commercial). Both coaches are in their second season as head coach of their respective teams.
* Redcliffe Leagues has won seven Division 1 grand finals and lost eight. Commercial has won 14 Division 1 grand finals and lost nine.
* Redcliffe Leagues and Commercial have played off in four previous grand finals, with Redcliffe Leagues winning in 1966, 1971 and 1989 and Commercial victorious in 2004.
* In the past 20 years the team that won the Minor Premiership has gone on to win the grand final on nine occasions. In that same 20-year period the side that claimed the Memorial Cup has gone on to win the grand final nine times. This year's Minor Premiers were Redcliffe Leagues, with Commercial the Memorial Cup winners.
* Redcliffe Leagues and Commercial will also play off in the Division 2 grand final. Redcliffe Leagues is aiming to win their third straight Division 2 premiership.
