The Brisbane Hockey League (BHL) is the Senior Men's Divisions played on the artificial surfaces in and around Brisbane. BHL1 is the Association's Premier Division.
Please use the side menu to select your area of interest. BHA's fixture draws have been entered in HockeyNet and will open in a new window (or tab). Hockey Australia (and Hockey Qld) have insisted that all Associations make use of HockeyNet for their fixture draws. To this end it is important that visitors to this site take the time to explore the HockeyNet interface so as to become familiar with its ideosyncrasies.
When you have selected a particular division from the side menu to view the fixtures for that particular division, you can select another division from the drop-down menu while in the new HockeyNet window (or tab). Also while in HockeyNet, you can select 'Ladder' from the menu to view the Point Table for the currently displayed division.
If you select 'Points Tables' from the side menu on this page, you will then need to select the division from the drop-down menu in the new HockeyNet window (or tab).
As in previous years, Lee Oliver will once again be posting Match Reports, including photos, for the BHL1 competition here on this site. Use the side menu to select a match date. This year Lee will be assisted by three volunteer journalism students and hockey players in, Nick Bolton (PR St Andrews Norths BHL1), Rebecca Kirchner (KWS Div 1 & Qld Scorcher) and Susie Hillard (Gold Coast). Your Association asks that all players, coaches, managers and Club officials cooperate with Lee, Nick, Rebecca and Susie at all times. Often, elements of these reports form the basis of articles that are submitted to the Press.
Beginning mid-Season 2008, negotiations were undertaken behind the scenes with Queensland Community Television (QCTV), formerly Briz31, for the televising of Brisbane Division 1 matches on the local community television channel. Early on in these negotiations, it was realised that BWHA should also be involved and were therefore invited to participate. It is of paramount importance that all players, officials and supporters get behind this initiative and give it their full support.
BHL1 matches that are to be recorded and televised have been marked accordingly in the BHL1 Fixture Draw. QCTV will be showing promotional adverts throughout each week, so make sure you tune in. Weekly program guides are also available from the QCTV Website.
