2007 BHA B&F Medal
We Have A Winner!
In its 28th year, the prestigious Brisbane Hockey Association Best & Fairest Medal has been won by Matthew Swann (Redcliffe Leagues). In an amazing double, and playing in his first season in the Brisbane Hockey League (BHL), Matthew was also named Brisbane Hockey Association Rookie of the Year.
Their were twelve players listed on the final Club Leader Board with two players in some Clubs receiving equal points. Each of the Club leaders received a commemorative pewter mug.
Commercial's Bruce Robertson, twice winner of the BHA Best & Fairest Medal himself, was named the Brisbane Hockey Association Coach of the Year. Bruce coached Commecial to their Premiership win in 2006 and has again coached his team into the box seat for this year's Premiership. Bruce also coached Brisbane's victorious Premier League Team in May of this year.
Richard Arthur was named Brisbane Hockey Association Umpire of the Year and received the Hawgood Family Trophy.
This year's Presentation Dinner was well attended, with more than two hundred guests, almost filling the Club to capacity. After the official ceremony the band Mr International entertained the guests until late in the night.
