This year, with Saturday 21 June 2008 set aside for the Memorial Cup, the two leading teams in each of the Brisbane Hockey League Divisions (BHL1-5) and the Classic Hockey League Divisions (CHL1 & 2) will compete for the Cup. The competing Teams are shown below.
Due to the lack of available timeslots for the Veterans Hockey League (VHL) Divisions the BHA Board of Management has proposed the leading team at the conclusion of the first full round be declared the winners of the Memorial Cup in the three VHL Divisions.

Match Reports MEMORIAL CUP FINAL
Commercial 4 (David Brain, Kye Hawgood, Chris Beale, Jason Green) defeated Easts 2 (Brad Mathers, Todd Watson) at the State Hockey Centre, Colmslie.
Commercial claimed its third Memorial Cup in the past four seasons with a clinical 4-2 win over Easts. Despite missing seven first team regulars, the Tigers took an early lead when Brad Mathers expertly deflected a ball past Commercial goalkeeper David Reid. Commercial, who had three players of their own on state duty at the national under-21 titles, responded with goals to David Brain and Kye Hawgood to hold a 2-1 lead at halftime in the tight contest. Easts, who blooded several youngsters in the Cup final, started to fracture against their more experienced opponents in the second half. Simple turnovers saw the Tigers play much of the second period in their own half, with Commercial ramming home its territorial advantage with goals to Chris Beale and Jason Green. The Cobras threatened to run away with the game, but Easts got back into the contest in the final five minutes as they bid to keep their undefeated season alive. Todd Watson scored from the penalty spot to hint at a comeback, but a grandstand finish was denied when the Tigers had another late goal correctly disallowed.
