Men's Hockey in Brisbane began in 1921 when five clubs were formed as a result of a special meeting held by local hockey enthusiasts. Fixtures then commenced with the following clubs: City, Valley, Albion Cadets, Enoggera and Toowong. The Brisbane Hockey Association (BHA) was constituted in 1932.

Presented on the linked pages listed to the left are selected articles copied from the Brisbane Hockey Association's 1982 Golden Jubilee Booklet.

The articles contained in the original booklet were written by many people throughout Brisbane hockey circles at the time of original publication. Unfortunately, none of these articles have any "by" lines.

Each article was scanned in using a hand scanner and then checked for spelling, back in 1997. When converting these articles for the Net it was necessary to alter occasional small amounts of text and some headings. However the original intention of the articles is preserved.

If anyone is in a position to continue writing new articles about the history of the BHA then please contact the BHA Secretary to discuss.

Though I have sought permission from the BHA to publish these on the Net, I am yet to hear officially from them. However, in the mean time, I feel that the information presented in the booklet is far too valuable not to be shared.
